The Advice Place is a walk in, independent, confidential advisory and information service for students at Edinburgh University. We have two offices and we deal with over 17,000 queries each year from money problems to council tax issues, student loans/fees problems to academic issues.

The vast majority of these queries come into the Potterrow Advice Place - which is why we need volunteers to help out.

-Acting as the first point of contact for enquiries.
-Giving practical advice and information to students.
-Making appointments or referring on to other appropriate staff or outside agencies.

We'll be holding interviews on Fri 30th September, so you'll need to be free then. You'll also need to be free on the 7th and 8th of October for training.

There will also be ongoing training throughout the academic year, giving you excellent expertise and experience in advice work!

No prior experience is necessary, although you should be interested in helping others. You'll also need to commit to volunteering for a minimum of two hours per week and attend regular management meetings.
