Practical Volunteer - Setting Up Edible Edinburgh Festival at UoE Department for Social Responsibility and Sustainability

An opportunity improve your practical & technical skills setting up the infrastructure of the Edible Edinburgh Food Festival.

Dates 4 Oct 2013 - 5 Oct 2013 (5 hours)

An opportunity to improve your practical & technical skills in setting up and packing away event infrastructure - marquees, stalls and general decorations. It is the city’s largest food event aiming to feed 5,000 people - The Edible Edinburgh Festival (organised by Edinburgh City Council, University of Edinburgh & Nourish Scotland). 5,000 delicious free meals will be created by celebrity chefs and community groups from ingredients that might otherwise have been thrown away. The festival is for all who enjoy good food and are keen to minimize food waste. You will get some of the free food.

We need enthusiastic and reliable volunteers to help set up and take down the infrastructure of the festival. There are 2 different shifts available, PLEASE INDICATE IN YOUR APPLICATION which shifts you can help out at:

Shift 1 (setting up): Fri 4th Oct 10am-3pm.

Shift 2 (setting up + packing away): Sat 5th Oct 9am-12noon & 4.30-7pm

• If doing shift 1 on Fri 4th Oct 10am-3pm you will be setting up event infrastructure - marquees, stalls and general decorations

• If doing shift 2 on Sat 5th Oct you will be setting up event infrastructure from 9.30am-12noon and packing away the event from 4.30-7pm.
